PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heater ensuring proper matching, when it is incorporated in storage furniture, or the like, without impairing the usability as an independent heater. SOLUTION: The heater comprises a door 4 for opening/closing a heating compartment 3, a section 5 for controlling a heating means, and an operating section 6 for controlling driving of the heating means. The operating section 6 is constituted, by providing an electrostatic switch on the inside of a semitransparent member such that light is emitted by touching the semitransparent member to be readied for receiving a switching operation. The operating section is normally invisible from the outside and thereby proper matching with furniture is ensured when the heater is incorporated in storage furniture, or the like. Since the operating section emits light to be readied for receiving switch operation, when a user touches the semitransparent member, the heater can be used similar to a conventional apparatus and usability will not be impaired.
