PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily perform operation to regulate the position of an upper cover and to reduce the number of parts in a cover apparatus of a rotary tiller. SOLUTION: The cover apparatus of the rotary tiller is obtained as follows. A positioning mechanism 30 for holding the upper cover 21 at a rotated position is arranged between a machine cashing 6 and the upper cover 21. The positioning mechanism 30 is equipped with an arm member 31 rotatably pivoted on the machine casing 6 and a fixed member 32 secured to the upper cover 21. An engaging part 33 is arranged in either one of the arm member 31 and the fixed member 32 and the engaging part 33 is engaged with the other member by shaking of the arm member 31 in one direction. A plurality of engaging parts 34 in the front and rear directions for releasing the engaged state of the engaging part 33 by shaking of the arm member 31 in the other direction are arranged.
