摘要 #CMT# #/CMT# The cryogenic tank (40) has an outer container (4) around a thermally-insulated, inner fuel container (1). A vacuum-insulated housing (6) contains cold valvework used to fill and empty the tank (40). In the new design, a pump (9) removing liquid hydrogen (LH2) from the tank is included in the housing (6), and is cooled by a first heat exchanger (21). The pump has low thermal capacity. A second heat exchanger (10) is located between the housing and the consumer, i.e. the vehicle engine. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# A liquid hydrogen fuel tank for a road vehicle with an internal combustion engine. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# Fuel can be supplied to the engine at pressures up to about 20 bar absolute, using this arrangement. At the same time, pressure in the fuel tank is kept low. Fuel is supplied to the engine efficiently, even under the fully-loaded condition. Large quantities of fuel are stored in liquid form, despite the low filling pressure of the tank. Efficiency is also enhanced by the wide range between storage- and boil-off pressures, which increases the loss-free interval during pressure growth. The first heat exchanger can be formed by coupling the pump casing to a line conveying cryogenic medium.
