PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external preparation for skin, which has preventing or improving effects to the aging skin such as wrinkles and also has a suppression effect to hair growth. SOLUTION: The external preparation for skin comprises a malonic acid amide derivative represented by formula (1), or a salt thereof, (wherein R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are H, an alkyl, an alkenyl or an aralkyl; R<SP>3</SP>is H, an alkyl or an alkenyl, or may form a heterocycle with R<SP>4</SP>and a vicinal nitrogen atom; R<SP>4</SP>is H, an alkyl, an alkenyl or an aralkyl, or may form a heterocycle with R<SP>3</SP>and a vicinal nitrogen atom; R<SP>5</SP>is hydroxy, an alkoxy, an alkenyloxy or an amino acid residue; and n is 0, 1, 3, 4 or 5).
