FIELD: electrical engineering, applicable in the traction electric drive system of electric rolling stock. ^ SUBSTANCE: the method for control of start of the DC motor with series and shunt excitation winding consists in the fact that at a start of the motor first the shunt winding is connected in opposite to the series winding for a short period of time, and then the shunt and series windings are connected in aiding and the start is accomplished. ^ EFFECT: smooth growing of the torque or the motor shaft, and considerably enhanced service life of the actuating mechanism-mechanical differential. ^ 2 dwg
