PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage generation circuit, and power supply circuit provided with the same capable of accurately detecting abnormality of reference voltage. SOLUTION: The power supply circuit 1 is provided with a voltage generation circuit 2, a regulator 3, a voltage detector 4, a starting control circuit 5, and two AND circuits 6 and 7. The voltage generation circuit 2 is used for outputting reference voltage Vref to the regulator 3 and the voltage detector 4 and for outputting a determination signal S<SB>1</SB>to the AND circuits 6 and 7 on the basis of normality or abnormality of the reference voltage Vref. The voltage generator 2 is provided with a reference voltage generation circuit 8 and a reference voltage determining circuit 9. The reference voltage determining circuit 9 detects or detects in advance abnormality of the reference voltage Vref on the basis of detection current I<SB>4</SB>flowing when the reference voltage Vref output by the reference voltage generation circuit 8 is equal to prescribed voltage value or larger.
