<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and safely control airports by integrating and complementing the surveillance of airport surfaces which uses an airport surface detection radar with multilateration information. <P>SOLUTION: An airport surface surveillance system includes multilateration for receiving a signal transmitted from a target at a plurality of ground stations arranged at an airport, computing three-dimensional positional information of the target on the basis of the time difference of arrival of the received signal, and acquiring identification information of the target; a target altitude surveillance device for determining whether the target is flying at low altitude over the airport or not flying and on the airport surface on the basis of the three-dimensional positional information; an integration processing device for integrating the positional information of the target computed by the airport surface detection radar and multilateration on the basis of results of the determination; and a display device for displaying the integrated positional information and the identification information of the target in a coordinate system indicating the airport surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
