PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quality determination device and a quality determination method capable of reducing an average inspection time required for inspection per article to be inspected. SOLUTION: This quality determination device acquires at least one time-series signal produced from an article in a sensor part and uses it for quality determination in the determination part. The determination part performs a quality determination S104 at a time point S102 when the elapsed time from a predetermined time point timed in a timing part is a first period of time. When the article cannot be determined to be acceptable according to the quality determination S106, the determination part performs the quality determination S104 of the article again at the time point S102 when the elapsed time is a second period of time.
