PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the stability of a turbocharger, when supplying auxiliary air. SOLUTION: This supercharging system for an internal combustion engine has a supercharger having an exhaust turbine 11, a pressure accumulating tank 21 supplying the auxiliary air to the exhaust turbine, an adjusting means 25 adjusting a flow rate of the auxiliary air supplied to the exhaust turbine from the pressure accumulating tank, and a control means 30 controlling the adjusting means so as to reduce the flow rate in the middle period among a predetermined period, by comparing with a flow rate in the initial period and the latter period among the predetermined period, in the predetermined period after a vehicle starts acceleration.
