摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of preventing a decrease in the density and the occurrence of a blur by creatively using a correction coefficient depending on a deviation in the case of executing joint correction processing. SOLUTION: An image reading apparatus disclosed herein includes read means formed by arranging in zigzag overlappingly read parts of image sensors adjacent to each other by a prescribed number of pixels in the main scanning direction, and a joint correction processing circuit 201 for joining overlappingly arranged parts includes: cubic function convolution sections 230, 231, 232 for multiplying the correction coefficient with acquired image data depending on the size of the deviation when a deviation takes place in the positions of the image sensors; weighting count sections 210, 211, 212 for multiplying a weighting coefficient with corrected data in response to both the main scanning directions of the image sensors; and an adder circuit 250 for generating image data for joints on the basis of the correction data obtained by each of the sections 230 to 232 and 210 to 212.
