PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a new metabolic syndrome therapeutic agent with high safety or aβ-glucan and compound sugar-containing vegetable chitosan useful as a new neutral fat-lowering food from the hymenocarp or mycelium of food Basidiomycetes. SOLUTION: Disclosed is a method for manufacturing an aqueous solvent-solubleβ-glucan and a compound sugar-containing vegetable chitosan that are prepared from the hymenocarp or mycelium of enokidake mushroom.
