[Also in Group XXXVI] A socket connector for a telecommunication system comprises a plurality of insulating plates such as 1, la arranged side by side and each carrying a. plurality of contacts 3 ... 3c each having four contact springs 5 which bear on a spring-loaded cylindrical intermediate piece 6 of conducting or insulating material which is displaced downwards when a single or multiple pin plate type plug (not shown) is brought into co-operation with the connector. Thus if incoming and outgoing signal circuits are connected to the various contact springs it is possible to modify the connections between the circuits by inserting, removing or exchanging various plugs. |
