A high frequency signal generator for driving an electrodeless fluorescent lamp is provided to decrease an EMI(ElectroMagnetic Interference) by driving the electrodeless fluorescent lamp at a relatively low driving frequency. A high frequency signal generator includes a DC/AC inverter(114) and an oscillation control circuit(115). The DC/AC inverter receives an input DC signal, which is generated from an input AC signal, and oscillates at a frequency higher than the input AC signal to output an output AC signal. The oscillation control circuit generates a first lamp signal using at least one capacitor and at least one inductor, which are series-connected to a terminal for the output AC signal. The oscillation control circuit generates a second lamp signal from the first lamp signal by using passive elements. The oscillation control circuit supplies the first and second lamp signals to two terminals of a coil in an electrodeless fluorescent lamp. The high frequency signal generator includes an EMI filter(111) and a rectifier(112). The EMI filter filters the electromagnetic wave of an inputted AC signal. The rectifier generates a DC signal from the signal to filter the electromagnetic wave. |
