A system and a method for monitoring train broadcasting in real time are provided to sense a state of a broadcasting service provided within a train by interworking with a broadcasting system within the train and transmit the state information to the outside in real time by using an SMS(Short Message Service) message, thereby more quickly sensing and recovering errors generated in the broadcasting system within each train. A broadcasting system(10) receives a satellite broadcasting signal from a broadcasting satellite, outputs the received signals through monitors installed within passenger quarters, and outputs a corresponding event signal in case that a preset specific event is generated when the broadcasting signal is outputted. A monitor power sensor(20) senses on/off states of the monitors and outputs monitor state information for informing the states. A broadcasting monitoring unit(30) detects whether errors are generated during the output of broadcasting signals according to the event signal and the monitor state information. If so, the broadcasting monitoring unit generates and outputs a transmission frame including the error contents. An SMS(Short Message Service) transmitting unit(40) converts the transmission frame into an SMS message and transmits the message to a pre-designated number.
