A passenger air bag module for a vehicle and a folding method thereof are provided to protect a passenger by restraining the direction of an air bag cushion through adjustment of deployment pressure during an initial stage of deployment of the air bag cushion. A passenger air bag module for a vehicle includes an air bag cushion(10) inflated by injected gas, and an outer tether(20) which covers the air bag cushion, and has a tear line which is torn by a predetermined pressure. The tear line is formed on an upper or lower portion of the outer tether, and permits the air bag cushion to be deployed upwardly or downwardly by concentrating a pressure to the tether line during deployment of the air bag cushion.
