A lightning arrester is provided to improve a discharge capacity between space charges and ground charges by interposing charge pins between a discharge device and a charge tube, and installing a charge device on the end of the charge tube. A lightning arrester includes a conductive rod(30), a charge tube(36), and a plurality of charge pins(37). The rod is installed at the upper end of an object protected from a thundercloud, and is connected to a ground device. The charge tube has the shape of a cylinder, is insulated from the rod through an insulation material, and charges with the opposite polarity to ground charges are charged thereon. The plurality of charge pins are located at the upper part of the charge tube. Space charges in the air are charged.
