The method involves determining a preliminary comfort margin from a real difference between a current value and assured value during preliminary phase. A useful comfort margin is determined from the preliminary comfort margin, and apparent difference between the current value and a limited value of monitoring parameters is determined during main phase. A limited margin is determined by subtracting useful comfort margin from the apparent difference during the main phase. An independent claim is also included for an instrument for a limitation.
