A power transmission mechanism where, even though a drive mechanism can be held stopped immediately after meshing members mesh with each other, an occurrence of noise is prevented. A CD changer (1) has a disk receiving section, a disk conveyance section, and a power transmission mechanism (90). The disk receiving section has holders for holding CDs. The holders are arranged in a layered manner and are movable in the direction of the arrangement. The disk conveyance section conveys a CD. The power transmission section (90) has a movement section (22), a motor (41), a transmission restriction section (74), and a microcomputer (91). The movement section (22) moves the disk receiving section along the arrangement direction. The motor (41) rotates a transmission gear (81). The transmission restriction section (74) moves the transmission gear (81) between a connection section at which the transmission gear (81) transmits power to the movement section (22) and a separated position spaced from the connection section. The microcomputer (91) moves the transmission gear (81) from the separated position to the connection section while alternately rotating the gear bit by bit in the normal and reverse rotation directions.
