The method involves generating a group of entities with masks (M1, M2) and filters (F1-F3). One of the entities is evaluated by testing the entity with identifiers of data frames circulating on a controller area network to determine a score representing performances of the entity in relation to accepted frames and frames to be consumed by a computer. The entity is retained when the score does not satisfy a criteria and another entity is evaluated. New group of entities are generated and the evaluation operation is repeated when none of the entities of the former group satisfies the criteria.
