PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil filter where a forged screw with a large pitch is formed on a screw fitting part to enable instantaneous unscrewing and disassembly of the outer tube case; this enables the outer tube case part to be used again without being discarded; as a result, the number of components to be discarded is reduced as much as possible; and only oil, rubber packing, and paper filter element part require replacement; and the oil filter itself contributes to reduction of recycle cost. SOLUTION: In this oil filter 10, a cylindrical lid part and a cylindrical body part are screwed to each other, and a filter element is mounted in them in the axial direction. The oil filter is structured such that the lid part 1 and the body part are made of iron; screw threads of the lid part and the body part are constructed from forged screws; a plurality of protrusions are provided on a line extended from a pitch line of the male screw thread of the lid part; the male screw thread has a plurality of discontinuous parts; each discontinuous part has a protrusion; and the female screw thread of the body part also has a plurality of discontinuous parts.
