<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inspect the flatness of a terminal lead and the clearance between it and a print board accurately without preparing a special light diffusion member even when abnormal bending occurs at the tip of the terminal lead and a foreign matter adheres thereto. <P>SOLUTION: A workpiece W is moved in the horizontal direction, and the conditions before and after the movement are photographed by one camera C. On the basis of a triangle consisting of three measurement points p<SB>mn</SB>before and after the movement and the camera, the monocular stereoscopic measuring method for calculating the vertical distance Hn between the camera C and the measurement point is established. The measurement point is set in a plurality of numbers.
