PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent contact of a vehicle with its surrounding obstacles etc. due to steering failure of a driver, at the time of switching to manual operation by the driver after an automatic parking mode is interrupted in the middle and the vehicle is stopped. SOLUTION: After interruption of automatic steering control, when a steering wheel 1 is manually operated and a steered wheel 4 is steered, information in a two-dimensional coordinate system memory 25 is read out. When the wheel 4 is steered to a direction in which the vehicle can interfere with an obstacle around the vehicle, guidance torque to suppress the steering operation is generated by operating a reaction force actuator 19.
