PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endless transmitter tensioner device with a means for reducing impact reaction given by the endless transmitter, comprising a body case, a rod holder slidably fitted through the body case, a rod member slidably fitted through the rod holder and resiliently energized by an elastic member provided between the rod holder and itself, and a locking means provided between the rod holder and the rod member for preventing the push-back of the rod member. SOLUTION: The means reduces push-in force on the rod member when pushed in with impact reaction given by the endless transmitter, while applying a time lag to the locking means before locking it.
