A device and a method for authenticating a face, and an entry management device are provided to improve a face authentication performance by determining a worker to be captured based on a flow line of the walker and changing a threshold value for face authentication according to a determination result. An obtainer(101) obtains an image including the face of the walker. A face detector(106) detects a candidate face area from the obtained image and detects a face area from the candidate face area. A face recognizer(109) determines the registered walker by calculating similarity between the detected face area and registered face information, and comparing the similarity with the threshold value. An authenticator(117) authenticates the walker based on a recognition result of the face recognizer. A flow line extractor(111) extracts the flow line of the walker. A comparator(113) compares the extracted flow line with a reference flow line. A threshold value adjustor adjusts the threshold value based on the comparison result of the comparator.
