<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric composite connector that can be mounted on a substrate at low height. <P>SOLUTION: The substrate mounting photoelectric composite connector comprises a plug-side connector and a receptacle-side connector. The plug-side connector comprises a plug-side housing for supporting an optical fiber, a plug-side shell for covering the outside of the plug-side housing, and an optical module connected to the optical fiber. The receptacle-side connector comprises a receptacle-side housing mounted on a first substrate, a receptacle-side shell for covering the outside of the receptacle-side housing, and a receptacle-side terminal arranged in the receptacle-side housing. The optical module has a second substrate, an emitting and receiving element mounted on one face of the second substrate and the plug-side terminal or a land for performing signal transmission between it and the receptacle-side terminal by being mounted on one face of the second substrate.
