PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching element controller capable of preventing a through current from largely flowing while reducing a recovery loss. SOLUTION: The switching element controller comprises a first switching element 11 and a second switching element which are connected in series, and a gate-source voltage detecting means (130A, 130B) of detecting the voltage between a gate and a source of the first switching element, and is characterized in that a discharge to a gate mirror capacity of the first switching element generated when the first switching element is turned on is detected based upon the output result of the gate-source voltage detecting means and the turn-off timing of the second switching element is adjusted based upon the detection result of the discharge.
