A backlight unit and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) using the same are provided to form a groove where the rear and side of a second support unit are inserted in order not to generate a level difference by positioning the front of the second support unit of a lamp guide and the surface of a reflective sheet on the same plane, thereby solving the droop of a lamp and an optical member generated by making the LCD become bigger and reflecting uniformly light generated by the lamp to the optical member side through the reflective sheet. A backlight unit includes plural lamps(58), a bottom cover(52), an optical member(60,62), and at least one lamp guide(56). The bottom cover has the lamps disposed in the inner space and a reflective sheet(54) attached to the inner space. The optical member is disposed above the lamps. The lamp guide includes a fastening unit(56d), plural holders(56a), at least one first support unit(56b), and a second support unit(56c). The fastening unit is fastened to the bottom cover. The holders support each of the lamps with a predetermined height within the bottom cover. The first support unit supports the optical member in the lower part. The second support unit has the holders and the first support unit formed in the front. The fastening unit is formed in the rear of the second support unit. A groove(53) is formed in the bottom cover. The second support unit is inserted to the groove. |
