PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable unit capable of restraining unintended remote operation when carried in a pocket or a bag. SOLUTION: The portable unit 1 remote-operates a door lock of a vehicle 10 which is an operation object. The portable unit 1 comprises an input detecting part 2 provided with a plurality of detecting switches S1, S2, S3 each outputting a detection signal based on the input operation of a user, and a microcomputer 5 functioning as an operation signal generating means for discriminating remote operation contents based on the output patterns of detection signals from the plurality of detecting switches S1, S2, S3 and generating operation signals to the effect.
