<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain degradation of power generating efficiency of a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell is provided with a power generating body including an electrolyte layer and an electrode layer, a diffusion layer equipped with a flow channel for passing gas through used for power generation and supplying gas to the power generating body, a separator supplying gas to the diffusion layer, and a sealing part formed along an end face of the power generating body. The diffusion layer includes a flow-out restraining part restraining flow-out of gas outside from inside the diffusion layer along a direction crossing a lamination direction of the fuel cell, and a diffusion layer periphery edge part of a shape in which the surface at a side opposing to the power generating body is positioned farther from the power generating body as compared with a center part of the diffusion layer. The sealing part includes an effective sealing part constituting a seal together with the separator for restraining leak of gas outside from the inside of the fuel cell, and a deforming seal part deforming with force along the lamination direction from the surface of the diffusion layer periphery edge part at the side opposing to the power generating body at the time of lamination of the fuel cell and so structured to come in contact with the diffusion layer periphery edge part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
