PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To insert a character or a graphic generated in CG into video and efficiently perform compression coding thereon. SOLUTION: Uncompressed video data including synthetic video data, for example representing a caption or logo, are accompanied by compression coding parameters derived from operator action, or control data, used during creation or modification of the video data.
