PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic toner which gives an image with good thin line and fine dot reproducibility and less background fog and ensures less degradation in the image quality over time, and an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic toner contains a quaternary ammonium salt and a dithiodibenzoic acid derivative each having a specific structure.
