In an endless belt conveyer comprising flexible troughed idler roller assemblies, means are provided for restraining bodily movement of at least one of the assemblies so that its lowest part always lies behind the assembly ends relative to the direction of belt travel, the assembly thereby having a self-centering effect on the conveyer belt. As shown in Fig. 1, members 7 are pivotally attached to the linkages between a central roller 4 and wing rollers 5 of a roller assembly 3a suspended between ropes 1 and to a stand 2 which supports the ropes, the tie members 7 being of such a length that the roller 4 always lies behind the line 6 joining the assembly ends. Pivotally mounted struts 10 are provided to restrain the roller 4 of an idler roller assembly 3b situated behind the stand 2. In a modification, Fig. 3, the tie members 7 are replaced by a single length of rope 11 secured to each end of roller 4 and passing round a pair of pulleys 12 on the stand 2. The Provisional Specification describes an idler roller assembly comprising a plurality of discs carried on a rotating flexible shaft with a single tie pivotally connected between the centre of the shaft and a fixed support.
