Composite oxide particles which have conductivity and a black color. The particles contain one or more of copper, nickel, and molybdenum and have a cobalt content of 40-65 mass% in terms of the amount of the metallic element based on the whole particles. The particles are preferably produced by neutralizing and mixing an aqueous metal salt mixture solution containing at least cobalt and prepared from a water-soluble salt containing one or more metallic elements selected among copper, nickel, and molybdenum with an alkali hydroxide, keeping the resultant metal hydroxide slurry at a pH of 10-13, oxidizing the hydroxide at a temperature of 40-60°C, excluding 40°C, to obtain a precursor, aging the resultant precursor at 80-150°C, subjecting it to solid-liquid separation, and then heating the solid matter at 400-700°C for 1-3 hours, excluding 1 hour. |
