A FSC(Field Sequential Color) LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device and a driving method thereof is provided to improve fingerprint sensing accuracy by driving all of red, green and blue LEDs(Light Emitting Diodes) in a sensor mode. A field sequential color liquid crystal display device includes an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel(160) and a backlight(166). A photo-sensing element for sensing light with image information is formed on the LCD panel. The LCD panel has a display mode and a sensor mode. The backlight supplies 3 prime-color rays to the LCD panel. During the display mode, the backlight sequentially supplies three prime-color rays to the LCD panel. During the sensor mode, the backlight simultaneously supplies the prime-color rays to the LCD panel.
