The regulating valve (1) has a pivot arm (2) and a valve disc (3). The valve disk is attached to a bypass opening in a turbine housing of the exhaust gas turbo charger for closing the bypass opening and is lifted from there for opening the bypass opening. The regulating valve is pivoted by medium of actuating unit and the arrangement of the valve disk is at the pivot arm. The valve disk is adjustable angular relative to the bypass opening. A contact area (6) between the pivot arm and the valve disk is formed from an outer surface (7) and an inner surface (8) of a universal ball joint.
