An apparatus for improving the image quality of a 3D moving picture is provided to synchronize backlights of a boundary part of a left-eye image and a right-eye image and move the synchronized backlights together in a state when the backlights are turned off together to remove a phenomenon generated in the boundary part of left-eye and right-eye regions of an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a phase difference modulation liquid crystal cell. An image of an LCD is changed, and a dark backlight light source region(36) of an LCD is synchronized and moved together with a boundary area(31) of a left-eye image(32) and a right-eye image(34). The dark backlight light source region(36) is repeatedly turned off in a response delay region and is turned on the other regions in response to response delay.
