PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce short circuit between a signal conductor and a common electrode in a liquid crystal display device of lateral electric field type where at least part of the signal conductor is coated by the common electrode via an interlayer dielectric. SOLUTION: A contact holes 27 that connect a common wiring with the common electrode are not formed for every pixels, but are thinned out to be arranged in a zigzag manner, although a display panel is divided by scanning lines 11 and signal conductors 12 to provide the pixels.
