摘要 A calibration method for significant wave height in a radar type wave gauge system is provided to obtain the significant wave height, which is calibrated into an approximately actual value, by using a relation obtained by analyzing correlation of wave information measured by the system. A calibration method for significant wave height in a radar type wave gauge system comprises a step of measuring an average period, a wave period at a spectral peak and significant wave height by using a radar type wave height gauge(S5). Correlation between the significant wave height and the average period, or correlation between the significant wave height and the wave period is expressed by an equation through regression analysis(S6). Calibrated significant wave height is calculated by putting a measured average period into the relation between the significant wave height and the average period, or putting a measured wave period into the relation between the significant wave height and the wave period(S7).
