<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metalwood golf club head improved to be conformable to regulations of USGA, that is, reduced in material quantity as compared with that of the conventional design, manufactured with a face in accordance with the regulations of USGA related to a metalwood, and improved in average energy transmission efficiency of a hitting face of a hollow club head by improving the performance characteristic of the hollow club head. <P>SOLUTION: The hollow golf club head has a sole, a crown, a skirt and a striking face. A golf club includes a connecting part connecting the sole, the crown and the skirt to the striking face to each other, and including one stiffening member. A rib is disposed in the connecting part. A coefficient of rebound at least at one point other than the geometric center of the striking face is greater than 0.83. The stiffening member is disposed on the connecting part to manufacture a club head achieving a long carry of a ball at average without any change in outline geometry and shape of the head. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
