PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical filter which does not cause cracking in a vapor deposition film. SOLUTION: A groove part 61 is disposed on the upper surface of a substrate 41, on which an ND filter film 54 is formed. The substrate 41 is cut into a shape of an ND filter 20 in the groove part 61 by the shear with an opening part 72a of the upper die 72, which is generated by raising a stamping punch 73. The ND filter 20 is cut near a root part of the groove part 61 machined in the substrate 41 beforehand and, therefore, can be cut into the final shape without causing the cracking in the ND filter film 54 on the inner side of the ND filter 20.
