<p>The present invention relates to a method to optimize bandwidth usage in a multicast services control system MSCS for digital information transport comprising a Set Top Box STB1 attached to a broadband Network A/MNW. The Set Top Box receives a multicast stream from the Broadband Network, which stream is rendered to a terminal TV1 that is disabled for utilization of the rendered multicast stream. The method comprises the following steps: Receiving to the Set Top Box a terminal status signal, which signal 11 indicates de-activation of the terminal TV1. Sending an IGMP leave report signal 12 from the Set Top Box to the Broadband Network. - Termination in the broadband network of the multicast stream sent to the Set Top Box STB1.</p> |
