PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container-discarding method capable of reducing the load of a user in disposable-type container discarding treatment, and an autoanalyzer. SOLUTION: In the disposable-type container discarding method used in the autoanalyzer for measuring the characteristics of a specimen solution prepared by mixing a reagent solution with a specimen, the specimen solution or reagent solution, housed in the disposable-type reaction vessel or a disposable-type reagent container, is removed and the reaction vessel or the reagent vessel, from which the specimen solution or the reagent solution is removed, is subsequently discarded.
