PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-strength automobile member which is manufactured from an Al-plated steel sheet through a hot pressing method and is extremely excellent in corrosion resistance after coating, and the hot pressing method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The high-strength automobile member is a steel member having a coating layer at its surface and has a hardness of≥Hv400. The coating layer has a structure consisting of three layers and comprises at least two chosen from FeAl2, Fe2Al5, FeAl3, FeAl and Al-containingα-Fe. In a method of manufacturing the same, the automobile member is manufactured through the hot pressing method using a steel sheet obtained by performing Al-based plating on steel containing prescribed steel components. By heating the steel sheet at an average heating rate of≥4°C/sec from 600 to 850°C so that it reaches≥850°C before pressing, the structure of an Al plating layer after alloying can be controlled to achieve an excellent corrosion resistance after coating.
