<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery having a high chemical stability, high capacity, and superior cycle characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: As an active material that is to be contained in a negative electrode, a material in which mesophase carbon is graphitized is used. For a positive electrode, a positive electrode active material in which a lithium iron compound oxide (Li<SB>v</SB>Fe<SB>1-w</SB>M1<SB>w</SB>PO<SB>4</SB>) having an olivine structure is mixed, preferably, a positive electrode active material which contains an olivine structure lithium iron compound oxide and lithium nickelate (Li<SB>y</SB>Ni<SB>1-z</SB>M2<SB>z</SB>O<SB>2</SB>) and in which the mixing ratio of the lithium iron compound oxide to the total quantity of the positive electrode active material is 25-60% in weight ratio is made to be contained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
