AUTOMATIC WHITE BALANCING METHOD AND APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic white balancing method and apparatus. SOLUTION: The disclosed method includes the steps of: setting an illuminant detection region of an input image in accordance with an exposure integration time indicative of a collected amount of light when the image is taken (S210); detecting an illuminant by using data contained in the illuminant detection region in the color gamut of the image (S220); correcting the illuminant for compensating for distorted information contained in the detected illuminant (S230); and performing white balancing work on the image by using the corrected illuminant (S240).
