The device has a motor driven sliding door (2) guided along an adjustment path. A drive device (6) has a drive motor (8) and a drive chain, which is connected with the sliding door. The drive motor of the drive device is movably mounted relative to the sliding door in such a manner that the drive motor moves relative to the sliding door when exceeding a determined threshold value of an adjusting force, which acting on the sliding door. The threshold value is adjusted by spring units (18A, 18B) i.e. spiral springs, where the spring units are designed with damping characteristics. An independent claim is also included for a method for motor-driven adjustment of an adjusting unit. |
