DECODING-DEMULTIPLEXING APPARATUS IN INFORMATION TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain decoding processing normally even on the occurrence of an error in important information such as header information by providing error robustness for a bit stream itself in an information transmission system for transmitting an image or the like subjected to compression encoding.

SOLUTION: A decoding-demultiplexing apparatus comprises a means of inputting a multiplexed code string and demultiplexing multiplexed unit code strings, a means of separating compressed code strings and added stuffing bits in the multiplexed unit code strings, and a means of decoding the separated compressed code strings, and also has a means of detecting an error in the multiplexed code string by comparing the end position of decoding of the compressed code string by the decoding means and the start position of the stuffing bits with each other.
