PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new calcium carbonate/zeolite-based compound composite which has also peculiar properties such as reactivity with phosphoric acid ions in addition to catalyst properties, adsorptivity and ion exchangeability. SOLUTION: A zeolite-based compound having cations as constituents is immersed into a calcium hydrogencarbonate aqueous solution whose pH is prepared to≤7.5, and the pH is increased at least to 6.5 or above by an ion exchange process, thus calcium carbonate is precipitated over a part or the whole of the surface of the zeolite-based compound. In this way, the calcium carbonate/zeolite-based compound composite characterized in that calcium carbonate is precipitated over a part or the whole of the surface of the zeolite-based compound is produced.
