A water-dispersible polyurethane is provided to enable the production of leather having good wear resistance and superior sensitivity when used in a leather surface treatment process. A water-dispersible polyurethane is prepared from NCO-terminated polyurethane prepolymers prepared by reacting 100 parts by weight of a mixture of organic isocyanates and polyols with 10-50 parts by weight of a compound represented by the following formula I. In the formula, R1 is a C2-4 alkyl group, R2 and R3 are -(CH2)x(wherein, x is an integer of 1-2), R4 is H, or H and methyl, n is 1 or 2, and m is an integer of 10-20.
