MELANIN BIOSYNTHESIS INHIBITORS WHICH USING OF GINSENOSIDES

An inhibitor of melanin biosynthesis by using ginsenosides is provided to improve inhibitory effects on melanin formation, so that it is useful for whitening the skin or treating hyperpigmentation during pregnancy period. An inhibitor of melanin biosynthesis comprises ginsenoside Rc represented by the formula(1) or ginsenoside Rd represented by the formula(2) in which gic is beta-D-glucopyranosyl which is obtained by puffing ginseng and extracting puffed ginseng with at least one selected from water, ethanol, methanol and acetone under heating condition. A cosmetic composition for whitening the skin, preventing the skin aging and protecting the skin comprises the inhibitor of melanin biosynthesis.
